Portugal’s Centro Region is an undiscovered country for film makers. When I first visited the region I was taken by the striking variety of locations and diversity of the geography. I was so inspired that the script for Anamorphosis practically wrote itself and I just went with the flow. Centro Region is definitely a writer/director’s dream with lots of local skills and talent along with very helpful people and authorities. I can’t get over how helpful the tourist board, council, fire department and military were. Nothing was too much to ask of them and they went 110% out of their way to accommodate us. You could shoot almost any period of any genre here and it will look and feel totally unique because most of the region lies practically undiscovered by the mainstream film industry and I plan to return many more times to shoot here.
